PRP / GFC Therapy

Harness Your Body’s Own Healing Power for Skin & Hair Regeneration
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) are advanced regenerative therapies that use concentrated healing components derived from your own blood to stimulate collagen production, repair damaged skin, and revive hair follicles. As autologous treatments (using your own biological material), they offer a naturally safe approach to skin rejuvenation and hair restoration.

What is Advanced Exosome Therapy?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): A small amount of the patient’s own blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. Platelets are rich in growth factors (PDGF, TGF, VEGF, EGF) that naturally drive tissue repair and regeneration. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the scalp or skin — directly stimulating follicles and fibroblasts to regenerate.GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) is a more refined evolution of PRP. The process involves a specialised preparation kit that extracts a purer, more concentrated growth factor solution from the blood — with fewer inflammatory components than standard PRP. GFC delivers a higher density of active growth factors, leading to more consistent and effective results for both hair and skin applications. At Ivy Clinics, we offer both PRP and GFC treatments for skin and hair, and our dermatologist will recommend the most appropriate option based on your specific concern and expected outcomes.

Treatment Process at The IVY Clinics

Consultation & Blood Draw

Your dermatologist reviews your hair or skin concern. A small amount of blood (10–20ml) is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.

Centrifugation / GFC Preparation

The blood is placed in a medical-grade centrifuge to separate the platelets and growth factors. For GFC, a specialised preparation kit is used for a purer, higher-concentration extract.

Scalp / Skin Preparation

The target area (scalp or face) is cleansed and numbing cream is applied for comfort.

PRP / GFC Injection

The prepared PRP or GFC is micro-injected into the scalp (for hair) or skin (for rejuvenation) using fine needles at precise depths and intervals. The session takes 30–45 minutes.

Post-Treatment Care

Post-injection, soothing products are applied. Your dermatologist provides aftercare instructions and schedules follow-up sessions (typically 3–4 sessions, 4 weeks apart).

The PRP / GFC Therapy Procedure at Ivy Clinics

At Ivy Clinics, PRP and GFC are prepared and administered by our qualified dermatologist using certified centrifuge systems and sterile, single-use GFC preparation kits. The entire process — from blood draw to injection — is handled in our sterile clinical environment. GFC preparation follows strict protocols to ensure maximum growth factor concentration and purity. We offer PRP/GFC for both hair loss (scalp injections) and skin rejuvenation (facial micro-injections), with a full consultation to determine which preparation is most suitable for your goals.

Is It Safe?

Yes. PRP and GFC are among the safest aesthetic treatments available because they use your own blood — eliminating the risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The procedure is minimally invasive, and serious side effects are extremely rare. Mild swelling, redness, or sensitivity at the injection sites is normal and resolves within 24–48 hours. The procedure is performed with sterile, single-use equipment throughout.

How to Prepare for Your Session

  • Stay well-hydrated and eat a proper meal before your appointment (blood draw is easier when well-hydrated)
  • Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 5–7 days prior to minimise bruising
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment
  • Do not wash hair with chemical-heavy products on the day of scalp treatment
  • Inform your doctor of any recent illness, active scalp infection, or skin condition

Precautions

  • Do not wash the scalp for 24 hours after scalp PRP/GFC treatment
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 24 hours post-session
  • Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated scalp or skin for 48 hours
  • Do not apply chemical hair treatments (colour, straightening) for at least 1 week post-scalp PRP
  • For skin PRP — avoid active serums and retinoids for 5 days post-treatment

What to Expect After Treatment

For hair loss: results are progressive and require patience. Initial improvements in scalp health and reduced shedding may be noticed after the first 1–2 sessions. Visible hair regrowth and thickness improvement is typically observed after completing a course of 3–4 sessions (3–6 months post-start). Maintenance sessions every 6 months are recommended. For skin: improvements in skin quality, brightness, and texture are visible within 4–6 weeks of each session. Fine lines and under-eye hollows show gradual improvement after a course of treatments.
